Shepherding in Kent

There is surely a lot of history of shepherding in Southern England but we have only scraped the surface so far. Colonel Cheesman of Tilsden, Cranbrook, sheds some light on the five generations of shepherds from the Waters family in Kent leading up to 1950. They all ran registered flocks of Kent or Romney Marsh sheep.
