Romney Marsh & District Sheep Dog Society
The Romney Marsh Sheep Dog Society (later The Romney Marsh & District Sheep Dog Society) dates from 1932 when a club was set up to promote "Better Breeding of Dogs". Sheepdog Trials were held in the area by the New Romney branch of the National Farmers Union.
The area boasts the famous Romney breed of sheep which were, and still are, kept on the marshes.
